Yazen: the metabolic check behind Europe’s leading medical weight-loss programme

Medical weight loss with GLP-1 therapy needs lab values – Yazen integrates the accompanying metabolic check seamlessly into its programme, powered by Probatix: white-label test kits, accredited labs and results via API, directly in the treatment workflow.

Starting point

Lab values at the core of the programme – without own diagnostics operations

Yazen’s medical model is built on objective health data: without reliable lab values, treatment decisions cannot be grounded and progress cannot be measured. Building its own diagnostics setup, however, would have meant negotiating lab contracts, building kit logistics, creating compliance structures and developing a results integration – across several countries.

What Yazen needed was infrastructure that delivers at-home sample collection, accredited lab analysis and structured result delivery as one integrated service – under the Yazen brand, not under a third party’s.

Solution

White-label kits plus API integration

Yazen relies on two Probatix building blocks: white-label test kits in its own branding – including kit production, shipping and return logistics – and the lab diagnostics API for ordering, status tracking and result retrieval. Analysis runs in ISO 15189-accredited partner laboratories; results flow back into the Yazen workflow in structured form, where they are medically interpreted and discussed with patients.

For end users, the journey stays entirely within the Yazen brand world: order the kit, collect the sample at home, view the result in the platform. The Probatix infrastructure remains invisible in the background.

The metabolic check

Lab values as the foundation of therapy

The metabolic check is an integral part of Phase 1 “Connect” of the Yazen programme (€119, blood test included): an “examination of blood values to check hormone status, metabolic markers, minerals and vitamins” – before therapy begins, as the basis for the physician’s treatment plan (as stated on yazen.com).

Before starting a medication-based therapy, a medical review of the relevant blood values is standard practice – the home check makes this possible without a practice visit and delivers the values straight into the treatment process. Yazen cites “over 50,000 successful members” and “up to 15% weight loss in 6 months”, and was named “Europe’s weight-management programme of the year” in 2025 (figures according to Yazen).

Status transitions – dispatch, sample receipt, report approval – are reported to the Yazen platform in real time via webhooks; the report arrives as a FHIR R4 bundle with LOINC-coded values.

"Probatix enabled us to seamlessly integrate lab values into our platform. The complete infrastructure – from logistics to result delivery – was operational within weeks."

Why this only works with the right partner

A medically supervised programme forgives no quality failures. Diagnostics in a therapy context needs infrastructure that can do four things at once:

01

Medical reliability

Analysis exclusively in ISO 15189-accredited partner laboratories, with validated pre-analytics for every parameter.

02

Security & data protection

Data hosted in the EU, GDPR-compliant, with no data sharing with third parties.

03

Transparency

Clear, structured reports (FHIR R4, LOINC-coded) and traceable processes from dispatch to result.

04

Speed

The infrastructure is ready: a programme can go live in two weeks – just as it did for Yazen.

The same setup for your programme?

Digital health platforms, telemedicine providers and health insurers are claiming their diagnostics categories right now — whoever launches first defines the standard everyone else has to explain. The infrastructure is ready: your programme can go live in two weeks.
